The primary focus of The Tyson Law Group, LLC’s work is its public finance practice. Our partners have participated in devising innovative strategies in the dynamic environment of tax-exempt financing. Prior to joining the firm, our partners participated in many tax-exempt public finance transactions, representing issuers as bond counsel in Illinois and Wisconsin and serving as underwriter’s counsel to numerous national and regional investment banking firms. Among the financing completed were financings for the City of Chicago, the Board of Education of the City of Chicago, Illinois Finance Authority, Wisconsin Housing and Development Authority, State of Wisconsin and the City of Milwaukee including general market financing and exempt facility bonds (such as multifamily housing bonds). In fact, Mr. Tyson served as bond counsel for general obligation, revenue and refunding bonds of cities, housing authorities and school districts, for several private activity bonds and public corporations and severed as underwriter's counsel for a variety of bond issues and Ms. Strong Hill served as co-bond counsel for City of Milwaukee variable rate redevelopment bonds, Green Bay-Brown County Professional Football Stadium District sales tax revenue bonds and Brown County general obligation offerings.

The Firm’s public finance practice is organized on a tri-state level to coordinate delivery of the best expertise to individual clients and to ensure that the Firm’s professional standards are maintained Firm wide. Within the Firm, most attorneys devote substantially all or a major part of their practice to public finance. To ensure that public finance experience and information gained from transactions in one state are quickly shared with the practice group as a whole, The Tyson Law Group, LLC has installed technology that links every lawyer and staff member of the firm. This system allows The Tyson Law Group, LLC attorneys in one office to access the documents of other attorneys in an office miles away and to share thoughts and ideas through the convenience of electronic mail.
